French onion soup at the airport
Stop over in Doha, Qatar and spend some hours here before the next flight that will take us to Copenhagen.
This is an airport that’s a bit famous for being cold. And it is! I have my wool sweater on and am happy we planned for cold weather ahead.
Do you see Anders?
We ended up at the same French restaurant as last time at this airport. The service and food is good and tonight there’s live piano music. Feels like a good relaxing time between the flights.
Long line with mostly men at Colombo airport, Sri Lanka
Right now it really feels like being “in between”; countries, time zones, circles of friends, cultures, cooking and eating habits and routines.
Sometimes when traveling a bit further, it is like being in no-mans-land – nothing and everything applies, you meet people from all around the world, the internal time zone is off and I often wonder when I will wake up from the dream I am in… As if where I am and the situation is not real.
Ok, time for some tea and music!
Dreamy greetings from Qatar.
Tired this morning
After two days in Phuket, we have now landed in Singapore and arrived to the apartment where we’ll be taking care of a cat the coming weeks. (it’s almost a full month).
At Phuket airport
More pictures to come, just wanted to do a quick update.

Anders happy in a shop
This airport is a adventure all on its own. Like a shopping mall mixed with a spa. Cinema theatre, restaurants and nap rooms.
Merry Christmas signs everywhere
The flight from Bali went well. I was a bit nervous about my ear, but the treatment I did for three days worked well, and now after 5+ hours I’m ready to go up in the air again.
Fresh salad at Japanese buffé
We’ve only been in Transfer Terminal 2.
Star Wars movie anyone?
Anders was happy to look around in all the tech-stores in the airport, and we were both amazed by the indoor gardens.
Living orchids in the airport
Had to take one picture like the locals…
Yey! Here we are!
Soon time for boarding, and we’ll arrive in a rainy Phuket at 8 pm local time. Then a taxi to Khao Lak, where we have booked a place for two nights.
Then we’ll see what happens!

Oooops! The first pic wasn't saved
It was a fresh and yummy smoked salmon wrap with lots of green salad. And a bottle of pear juice. So glad I found something savory and this good this morning, ’cause now my brain seem to have shut down a bit.
It’s Friday morning, right? No, I try to remember it’s Tuesday. Is it?
Had a big time-confusion last night where I was one hour off, and luckily that was discovered before going to bed… Otherwise this morning wouldn’t be about breakfast and trying out skin care products in the Tax Free shop.
A favourite 'sample'
See, this is something I love doing; (Anders thinks it’s a bit funny) I sample luxurious skin care products and make sure to try them on my legs and arms, and the face = free high quality products before flying.
This is something I started doing when I flew frequently to Helsinki in Finland some years ago. Haven’t started doing manicure or full make up in those shops, but some nice smelling lotion works perfect as a little travel-treat.
Through security and then some body lotion
Brain shutting down; not so strange, haven’t been around this much people since over two months. Have to slowly adjust to busier life after those quiet months on Flores.
Enjoy your day and remember that it’s Friday today. Or Tuesday.
Doesn’t matter, today it’s time for my re-entry to Sweden.
In the nice bathroom
Yes, it’s right, I’ve today taken off and landed five times. One of them I didn’t need to get off the plane in between, but the rest have been separate flights. Yet another experience.
My new BFF
Let’s say it is nice to have arrived at the hotel for a few hours of rest before going back to the airport tomorrow morning. I did see a Starbucks in there, that might be my breakfast!
Apple and a stretch in Pico airport
After two flights this morning; Toulouse-Lisboa and Lisboa-Terceira we now have a few hours to spend at this little airport.
We’ve taken a short walk to get some fresh air and see a little of the sourroundings, and are amazed by the fact that people are living in houses just across the street from the entrence of the airport.
The departure area in Terceira airport
Houses and a purple restaurant across the street from the entrence hall
And in a roundabout we met a truck with a bull standing on a trailer and laughed a little about how wonderful it is with the country living that seems to be the case here.
A bull on a trailer
So, with two hours time difference we probably need to wait a little longer before having lunch. And then
we’ll board the last flight.

Road sign at the highway
It was an early start, alarm set on 3.30 am, and then a 10 minute walk to the Blagnac airport in Toulouse. We’re so early not even the shops or cafés are open yet. Lucky we had some fruit left in the bag.
Free wifi at the airport
Soon time for Paul to open, and maybe, just maybe, we grab a coffee before boarding.
Enjoy your day! Next time we write will be from the island of Flores.
