It’s Sunday afternoon, about 2 pm and not a person is seen when walking around the little village. The roads are completely quiet. Sunday afternoons tend to be like that here in France; people are at home or at a local restaurant enjoying a good, long lunch.
The feeling is quite similar to Friday mornings in Cairo, when it’s prayer time and the streets are quiet and empty. That’s when I loved being out walking or taking a taxi somewhere.
And today it struck me; it’s the same feeling as on Christmas Eve in Sweden between 3 and 4.30 pm. That’s when old episodes of Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse are shown on television and the country becomes quiet and the streets empty.
Funny similarities of habits among religion, old cartoons and family dinner 🙂
